The Rheinischer Gesang Verein, which translates to the Rhineland Choral Society, is a male choir devoted to keeping German songs and melodies alive. Up until 1932, this club was a portion of the Rheinischer Verein Mardi Gras Society. At that point, they spilt apart into their own club but continued their involvement with Mardi Gras celebrations in Chicago. Through 1998, this club would share the responsibility with the Rheinischer Verein Mardi Gras Society to plan and conduct the annual celebrations. |
