The Fanfaren Corp in Germany!

Who are we?

The Rheinischer Verein Fanfaren Corps is a German ethnic drum and bugle corps made up entirely of voluntary members. We are a subset of our parent club, the Rheinischer Verein Mardi Gras Society.

What are we?

As a German ethnic drum & bugle corps we attempt to maintain the traditions of similar groups throughout our history. Our music selections are limited by the instruments we play. Our main instrument is the brass fanfaren which is a brass horn similar to a trumpet but without values. These beautiful instruments have only a small range of notes that it may hit. The rest of our group is composed of fanfares with valves, brass bass horns, snare drums, tenor drums, bass drums, cymbals and a xylophone.

What kind of music do we play?

Our performances include a variety of numbers, starting with the traditional marches such as "Fliege March" and "Old Milwaukee" to show tunes such as "When the Saints Come Marching In" and "Der Faule Paul".

What events do we perform at?

We perform at many types of events. In addition to the Mardi Gras events of our parent club, we also perform in parades, at fests and other celebrations. For more information, see our events and photo gallery pages.
